The roadtrip I always wanted to have.......Excited!

The roadtrip that was...

      too bad..

  After just a few hours on the road, we made it to our very 

FIRST STOP: Q-Park

Q Park Cebu is situated in Compostela, Cebu. This has been a project of the family of Norberto Quisumbing, Jr. and the Norkis Group. Owners call it “a legacy to the Filipino people, a place to remember.”

Upon entering you are greeted by a very serene and eco-friendly environment..

This is one of the many places you could go to this Holy Week

                       It is adorned by huge statues depicting remarkable biblical scenes such as the nativity..

a huge replica of Michelangelo's Pieta can also be found.This famous work of art depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion

 

 our Lady of Guadalupe..

 this 200-hectare project has been in the works for 4 years now according to locals.

 It's quite a long walk before you reach the 1st station of the cross..

 traditionally, people would walk all the way up for the via crucis..

we took a ride to the top instead and ended up with this breathtaking view!

the scorching heat of the sun is just a small price to pay for being way up here so close to Mother Mary

 Q-Park has made a lot of improvements over the years and now,they also provide cottages where people can stay overnight

Now we're ready to head on to our next stop

 SECOND STOP: Healing waters of our Lady of Lourdes in Sogod, Cebu

 we have heard stories about this place that's why we want to check it out

this "tubod" as we call it in Bisaya is believed to be holy and sacred 

a lot of people come to this place hoping that they would be healed physically and spiritually


and so we did..

though the water was very shallow, it was very cold..and was a perfect remedy to the summer's heat

not too many people were there when we visited....some were just at the side of the river doing their laundry. yes they were--ridding 'em of dirt and stain..foaming 'em clothes up!hehe

everything seemed quite alright..not until, one old lady approached us and said: dili pwede mg swimsuit diri kay masuko ang madre!

OOoops!

after we made our apologies we then left and prayed real hard that our pure intentions would not be forfeited by our 'slight' misdemeanor

 let's go to our next stop mader..

 THIRD STOP: Cal-anan, Tabogon where they are celebrating the feast of their patron saint, San Vicente Ferrer

 it may seem like an ordinary day here in this photo but most of the residents are already busy cooking food. And this photo does not actually justify the loud noise coming from the speakers of the disco set which was just about 20feet away

This is my dad's hometown..we keep coming back to this place together with my cousins and relatives

 we stayed at my tiya's house everytime

 that road leads to Bogo where they usually purchase merchandise to be used at home especially during this type of gathering..and..yes

 we did go to BogO after we had lunch to buy some things needed to complete the preparation for the fiesta. This is our FOURTH STOP

FIFTH STOP: A resort in Camobo-an, Tabogon--formerly owned by grandpa, now owned by the Villanueva's-- it's a perfect summer getaway! come visit!

after a fun-filled day..we traced our steps back to Cal-anan just in time for the procession then dinner^^,

 fiesta=food! and lots of them! busog much! I didn't stay out too long that night and I ended up waking up very early the next day

 had some butong right after breakfast

LOL! 

SIXTH STOP:Our Lady of Manaoag Rosary Center

 This is located in St. Benedict's Monastery, Corte, Carmen, Cebu.

 The monastery is run by the Benedictine monks of the Sylvestrine Congregation. The monastery houses the miraculous image of Our Lady of Manaoag

 statues of different saints line-up before the church
