Even the sun sets in Paradise

I miss you...so much love...
Boracay trip
[September 15-18, 2012]

This was supposed to be our anniversary trip with bf but he had to leave for Jeddah just 3 days before our intended trip =C Thank God my friends came to the rescue and saved my birthday getaway.
So we checked in early for our 6am flight to Caticlan and boarded the plane where we were seated at the front most row. Woah! Since we have not seen each other in such a long time we did a lot of catching up while waiting for the plane to take off. Minutes passed and we heard an announcement that our flight will be delayed due to some missing papers/documents. We didn't mind and we continued talking.
After about an hour of just sitting inside the parked plane..we began to wonder what was wrong.
It seemed like something was going on outside the plane where a huge machine with a long cord was attached to the bottom of the plane somehow. We did not really understand what was going on and all the airline said was that they were still waiting for some documents. After more than 2 hours we finally took off.
Then several minutes into the flight we have hovered over Caticlan. Just then, the captain announced that because of the very short and slippery runway, he has decided to divert our landing at Kalibo.
What more could go wrong early on in this trip??! Good thing we were so excited to see each other that we killed time simply by catching up. Alas! We landed at Kalibo airport and were informed that we need to take an hour bus ride to reach Caticlan jetty. Do we have a choice? So we hopped on to the bus immediately.
We were a bit disappointed with all the delays, good thing we already reached Boracay shores by noontime. We were then mesmerized by it's beauty and we forgot all our earlier mishaps.
Before strolling too far on the beach, we made sure we have all that we need.
Hats.Hats.Hats.
This was one of the best decisions we made during this trip. It sure did help us hide from the scorching heat of the sun---it was the best beach accessory too! Well, it worked for us anyway.
See? Not bad.
The water was just too hard to resist, so we removed our cove ups and strutted out our bikinis and took a dip in the water.
The famous island/rock formation in Boracay.
Since our trip was in September, the crowd wasn't that thick--which was exactly what we hoped for.
After all the walking and swimming and more swimming..we got hungry.
And what more to satiate our tummies than a dinner buffet in no less than La Carmela de Boracay!!!
How lucky we were!! All credits to Yong who made sure we were fed well. He even helped us with our rooms and our water sports for the next day. An angel from above he is!
Just so you were wondering, we didn't plan on wearing the same color for the night. It just happened. Really.
The highlight for the night's feast was.....drum roll please......
the Margarita ala La Carmela de Boracay! It was soooo gooood!
The best we ever tasted! It did us good too haha!
Cheers to us, to boracay and to...
Yong..thank you for everything. We had a good night sleep on our first night because we wanted to be fully prepared for our extreme watersports the next day. I'll tell you more about it in another post.
This is our beach stroll on our second night. We decided to find a seafood buffet that is affordable and fortunately we did at just Php250/head. Great deal with unlimited shrimps! Yum!
A pose outside Mandarin Hotel
After a very sumptuous seafood dinner we wanted to find a place to chill and not too far off..we found..
Summer place
We have not tried Shesha so we decided to try it here...hmm...not so bad. Not that much fun quite honestly.
Anyway, we enjoyed the great music outside while enjoying the cool sea breeze.
It was a typical night in Boracay and that was all we need to recover from all the day's activities.
For our third day, we decided to beach bum all day and savor every minute we have in this Paradise.
Well, it wasn't the brightest of days but it was perfect for us.
Happiness is simply from feeling the sand between your toes and knowing that you can enjoy all this beauty freely. It is still a wonderful world. Yes it is!

This was a blissful vacay for all of us. This was meant to be.

Simple joys...
We took a break and tasted the famous Jonah's shake. Not a disappointment, it was delish!

And the fun continues....
Relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaax...

Cheers to one of the best vacays we ever had!
