A Walk in the Forest Park

Property of JfOx Pictures
Just a few hundred meters from the Dahilayan Adventure Park is the Forest Park.
A place where the young and the young at heart can spend the afternoon enjoying the different attractions.
How nice for this park to have a vast space for everyone to roam around.
It also has this frame for photo keepsake. Cool!
There's also this man-made lagoon where real ducks and not-so-real crocodiles can be found.
Then, when you reach the thick forest, you get to see these wild animals..
We can only dream of real, living ones.
Haha! Poor thing!
They also designed a pool where vibrant colored Kois can be found.

And in the middle of the park they placed trampolines which I wish we should've tried.
Zorbing!!! is something I'll not try as of this moment. Just the idea of being locked up inside this orange ball and rolled all the way to the bottom of this grassy slope-- is too scary for me. So I'll pass.
The cool breeze did not disappoint even during the mid-day.
This forest park is well designed with all the secret walkways and stairwells.
When our legs grew tired of exploring the entire park, we paid their Forest Cafe a visit and ordered some snacks. It was almost 3 o'clock in the afternoon and we are nearing the end of our Dahilayan day tour.
All in all we had a very pleasant and enjoyable visit in the Forest Park.
Goodbye for now Dahilayan!

Bucketlisted: Asia's Longest Zipline

JfOx Pictures
Finally, a breather from the demands of work and the hustle and bustle of the city life.
We made it to Bukidnon--the place I have always wanted to visit.
Bukidnon [Dec.14, 2013]
JfOx Pictures
Situated approximately  2,000 ft above sea level,  this beautiful getaway boasts of a cool weather and a fantastic view!
JfOx Pictures
Tall and towering pine trees are abundant here too! There's just something about these trees that makes me feel happy..just like Christmas. Oh and we visited 11 days shy of the actual Christmas day.--so..yeah Bukidnon is awesome!

When our shuttle reached Dahilayan Adventure Park, we wasted no time and headed straight to the ticket booth. The first activity we dared to try was Asia's longest zipline.
JfOx Pictures
Asia's longest dual zipline has two 840m Ziplines with a drop of 100 meters. Zipriders are transported via 4WD Safari Cruiser to a launch tower at 4500′ ASL. Zoom through the rainforest canopy at 60-80kph to land at our Carrier-type flight deck using a special arresting gear system.

We donned this blue apron slash jumper-like outfits and put our helmets on.
JfOx Pictures
My friend and I enjoyed the 'getting ready' part and used humor to shake off our anxiety.
JfOx Pictures
Not long after...
JfOx Pictures
here we go!!!
JfOx Pictures
We screamed our way through the pine trees and felt the rush of the cool wind on our faces.
After a while, we felt silent as we were just in awe of the breathtaking scenery. I personally tried my best to take it all in and forgot how high (100 meters more or less) from the ground we were. And when we conquered the 320-meter zip line we felt superhuman! LOL! Best feeling ever! Can't wait to try the next activity in line: the Drop Zone
[refer to previous post for details]
While still high from our unforgettable ventures, we checked out the rest of Dahilayan's attractions:
JfOx Pictures
Asia's first Zipline Roller Coaster, Oh my! Maaaaybe next time. Just maybe. haha!
JfOx Pictures
Asia's first Forest Canopy Pedal Powered Glider
This canopy glider moves thru the trees, crawls along vines, and zips between tree trunks while you pedal along the high wire (www.dahilayanadventurepark.com)
JfOx Pictures
Ropes Course
A 12-stage High and Low Wire obstacle course complete with a Multisided Rockwall (www.dahilayanadventurepark.com)

JfOx Pictures
Aside from the attractions, one can also get the best of nature's offering while simply strolling at the park.
JfOx Pictures
I gasped at the sight of this! Real sunflowers!!!!! Oh how lovely they are!
JfOx Pictures

And of course, you get to experience the marvel of walking among lush greens and tall pine trees. Yes believe it or not, we are still in the Philippines. I wish this is how our backyard looks like. Sigh.
JfOx Pictures
And how I wish this was our house. Sigh.
JfOx Pictures
After everything we've gone through today, it's time to reward ourselves with the perfect meal.
JfOx Pictures
I give Pine Grove restaurant a 5/5: Food, Service, Ambiance, Price and Location we're all great!

Ah..would you look at that! Thank you Lord for this wonderful world.
Come to Bukidnon and see this for yourself, this place is definitely worth it.

The Drop of Our Lives @ Dahilayan

According to Dahilayan Adventure Park's website: www.dahilayanadventurepark.com
Dropzone features a 120 ft. freefall into a man-made lake. Swoop to within a feet of the water surface making it an adrenaline pumping screamer of a ride. This is the Philippines' first extreme pendulum swing of its kind.

Bukidnon Trip [Dec.14, 2013]
JfOx Pictures
""On this perfect day..nothing's standing in my way.
On this perfect day..nothing can go wrong."
True enough it was a great day and the weather was perfect, the sun was out and the wind was cold.
My friend and I made up our minds early on that we will definitely do this at Dahilayan.
Yes we've heard of the longest zipline in Asia and we want to do that too. But this new offering is just as exciting and thrilling! So, why not? After settling the fees, we walked our way to the dropzone. We knew we were getting close because we heard someone screaming. Woah! It made us laugh and run closer to get the view of what was happening. When we got there, we saw two people way..way...up in the air swinging back and forth and screaming their lungs out. Just as we were nervously looking up and convincing ourselves if we should get on with it, the guide said: you're next!
JfOx Pictures
Waaaaaah! After the guides gave us instructions, they strapped us up and wished us the best. Hahaha!
Well there's no backing down now. This is it!!!!
JfOx Pictures
The first thing that happened was that we were hoisted up and farther away from the "launch pad". Suddenly the man-made lake seem smaller, the guides were smaller and everything else seemed further.
JfOx Pictures
I was so anxious to pull the cord, (yes I 'volunteered' to be the one to pull the cord in an attempt to establish control), that I kept on asking if it was time to do it. It wasn't time yet though because we have not stopped moving. We were still getting higher and higher by the second and I just couldn't imagine how far we were from the ground. I was sooo scared but I kept it all inside of me. My friend kept saying that we were so high up already and I just continued to make her feel fine by saying, no, we're okay. We're going to be okay. But I wasn't really. I was scared! And just then, we stopped moving and the guides signaled to pull the cord. And yes I did! But it didn't work the first time. OH NO!!! I pulled harder the second time and off we go screaming like we're going to plummet to our deaths anytime so...
JfOx Pictures
but of course we didn't. Instead we had the most exhilarating feeling and we just continued to scream as we swayed back and forth 120 feet above the ground. How cool are we now?! Hahahaha!
JfOx Pictures
Our altitude made our stomachs flip over and over and the swaying made it even worse, but we survived. We're hardcore like that!
JfOx Pictures
Kudos to our guides who documented our every move. We were having so much fun! One second we're laughing and the next, we're screaming again.

Oh and by the way, the view was a killer!

Touchdown! Praise God we made it safe!!!
