The Majestic White Island of Camiguin

The true story behind this is that we almost didn't push through with our visit to White Island because it was raining hard the day before and continued pouring until about 5-6AM. I was the one who woke up early because I knew early morning would be the best time to visit the island---During the which, the waters will still be calm and the sun's heat would be mild and very tolerable. But to my dismay, when  I looked outside our window, the heavens were still very dark and it was still drizzling. I decided to go outside our cottage just so I will get the feel of the weather, just then our boatman was outside. He said it is still not advisable to cross the waters at this time, perhaps if the sun will come out later, then we can try. Downtrodden, I went back inside our cottage (while the rest were still sleeping) and I crawled back in my sheets and prayed real hard for a turn around of the weather.
Woah! I must have done good because the sun is definitely here!!!
It was a few minutes past 7AM and still, everyone was sleeping, so I woke them up and demanded that we go to White Island at once!
A pose just a few meters from the cottage we rented overnight at Paguia's.

May not be the brightest of days but this is just exactly what we need. Let's go!

After just about 10 minutes.....

there it is...
In truth, it is just really a sandbar that becomes prominent when it is low tide.
The water usually begins to rise in the afternoon, so it is always best for visitors to come very early morning until about lunch time. As you can see from this shot, there are no establishments whatsoever on the island. That white object on the fire right is like a watch tower and farther to the right is a floating hut.

While you are enjoying your time on the sandbar, so to say, you have Mt. Hibok-Hibok on your background.

Quite a scenery they have here in Camiguin--only in the Philippines indeed!

Pristine waters and powdery white sand....what more could we ask for?!

Oh..and there's us with our bathing suits.
Wish everyone could come and visit this place so you can see how beautiful it really is.

Because the weather was not so good, there were huge waves kissing the sandbar which made us enjoy the swimming all the more!
Hurray for waterproof cameras!

After almost two hours of beach bumming, swimming and picture-taking..we did what we had to.
We had to bid white island farewell because we still had a Camiguin day tour to complete
AND the sun's heat was beginning to intensify.

Though it was hard, we left white island with a promise to return and pay tribute to it's majesty. Until then!
