Boracay Trip
My first ever Paraw sailing experience!!! After a few visits to this beautiful island, it is only this time that I had the chance to ride one and I was so excited!
A Paraw is a simple sailboat used by locals primarily for transportation and fishing. Now, Paraw sailing has become very popular for tourists who wish to see Boracay in a different way. One can opt to sail early morning, mid-day or during the late afternoon, just as long as the wind is favorable. We chose to sail when the sun was about to set so it won't be too hot.
We had to sit on the two huge outriggers located on both sides of the boat. No back support, no cushion, no belts whatsoever.
Oh and before we set sail, we also had to figure out the proper 'balance' of the weight of the passengers to avoid tipping over.
Off we go! And because we traveled during the monsoon season, the wind was great! It was strong and it propelled our sails at top speed.
What an exhilarating experience! I screamed once in a while especially when I feel that we really didn't have any control over the wind. Gaaaah! Sea water splash everywhere nut it was all worth it.
All smiles after our first ever Paraw sailing experience. Dad caught a big fish for dinner! Yay!
The trip lasted for about an hour and it was a great way to end our Boracay escapade.
Hope the birthday celebrants had a blast.
You guys should try this too!
Until then!
