At Mayon Volcano's Lava Trail Landing

Our trip started with a little adventure while we were still at Mactan-Cebu International Airport. All 3 of us girls rode on the same cab from our houses to the airport and waited in line for check-in. Since it was only about a few minutes before check-in counters close, we called the guys and they said that they were about to alight their cab already. With that, we proceeded to our waiting lounge and chatted the last few minutes while waiting for boarding. Several minutes passed and we still haven't seen our friends who were on the same flight with us. Now, we started to worry and tried to text them. No reply. Since we have not seen each other for a long time, we girls continued to chat until the airline announced boarding. Now, we were seriously worried. We stayed behind the line of people boarding our flight and waited a few minutes more. We tried calling the guys and to our surprise, they were already seated comfortably on the plane! My gosh! All this time we were waiting for them and they were way ahead of us. Haha! This trip is going to be great! I can tell!!!
Our flight was on time and we arrived safely at Legaspi Airport. Like most of our trips, we wanted to make the most of every minute we spent in our destination. So here we are, aboard the 4x4 Mayon Explorer rockin' service of Your Brother travel and tours. We knew we will be fetched at the airport, but we didn't know it was gonna be this cool! We placed our bags inside the hilux and chose to stay at the back to get the feel of the adventure waiting for us.
We gassed up first and the driver made sure we had one helluva ride! Man we were going fast!!Yey!
We arrived at the drop off point in no time! Welcome to Your Brother travel and tours. They cater ATV tours to the lava and trail summit. We are finally going to see the great Mayon Volcano up close!
And yeah, that's Zac Efron righ there. He took the adventure when he visited the Philippines a few years back. Well, Zack, it's our turn! We sure won't miss this activity while in Legaspi.
We had a short briefing on all safety reminders and immediately after, we had our gears on!
They have the coolest helmets! I personally was so excited to try the all-terrain vehicle for the very first time in my entire life. And where better place to do it than in the Mayon Lava Trail! Gaaaah! I didn't even know how to navigate my ATV haha! The guide and my friends had to teach me first on how to switch gears, accelerate, move backwards and how to halt. It was all quite easy to remember so..what are we waiting for?
Let's go!!!! Mt. Mayon was a bit shy that day, but nonetheless, it was still a beautiful day for all of us!
The trail was a real challenge what with all the mud, water and rocks that we had to go over.
That's not mud and water only you know....there's a mixture of animal droppings too! Smelled great!Haha!
My friend had to ride with my other friend while waiting for her ATV to be replaced. The fun never stops!
Met a few hurdles on the way but we all learned how to fix our ATVs soon enough. So, off we go!
After more than an hour of riding the ATV under the heat of the sun, we finally arrived at the pit stop. We were expecting to ride the ATV all the way to the foot of Mt. Mayon but we were informed that there's no passage for ATVs, so we had to move forward on foot.
Hats for the ladies please! Haha! It was a grueling climb I must say. Sometimes you have to be on all fours just so you can climb over a huge rock. There were no handles nor ropes so we had to be very careful in taking each step.
Thankfully enough, we made it safe and we were rewarded with this breathtaking view of Legaspi.

There's a heli-pad next to the landing which caters visitors who will visit the famous Misibis Bay Resort.
After about an hour we decided to go down and head back to the City.

We went down with some of mud, soil and lava rocks on our shirts and gained some tan lines too!
Thank you so much to all our guides!!! I super enjoyed my first ATV tour and I'm sure my friends did too!You guys should not miss this when in Legaspi. Oh! and by the way, we had a great gastronomic experience in Legaspi too! See photos below:
