Seeking the Caramoan Dream

Caramoan trip [July 14-15, 2013]
Another paradise..how blessed are we to have so many islands with so many things to offer!
But mind you, getting here is not easy-- transportation wise. It would take a heart of a real traveler to seek this beautiful place no matter what. And yes, that's what we did.
Drained from our wakeboarding adventure, we decided to stay overnight in Naga City. We stayed in Sampaguita Tourist Inn and settled right away. However, it only comes natural for friends who are travelling to spend the rest of the night talking endlessly on just about everything. It was around 11 pm that we finally decided to hit the sack. Our wake-up call was at 2 am. Oh my! Yes it had to be that early because we wanted to take the first trip of the ferry going to Caramoan at 5 am.
So when the clock struck at 2am, all our alarms went off. And in 5 minutes, we were out and about in the cold streets of Naga City. We walked our way to the van terminal near SM Naga only to find out that it's nowhere to be found. It so happened that there was a Milo run that day and there were marshalls spread all over SM Naga grounds. One marshall said that the terminal was on the other side of the mall. But to our dismay, all the van drivers were fast asleep when we got there. One woke up and informed us that he can take us to the port just as long as we pay for a  roundtrip fare. Waat? He said he would not have any passengers on the way back to Naga this early so we have to pay for the entire trip going there and back. Well that is not really an option for us at this point. We can't spend anymore than what we have budgeted for this trip. Just as we were about to walk away from the terminal, a man approached us and asked if we were heading to Sabang port too. It so happened that he was with his wife and they wanted to ride the van to the port too but was offered the same deal. He said his plan now is to ride the bus. And we were very lucky to find out that he was indeed from Caramoan! Yey! So we hired a tricycle to bring us to the bus terminal with our new friend leading the way. Thank you Lord! After we were seated on the non-aircon bus bound for Sabang, we dozed off, at least I did. Not long after (about an hour or so) we arrived in Sabang Port.
We immediately hopped on the ferry to take us to Guijalo port in Caramoan.
It took 2 hours of ferry ride before we finally arrived.
The trip was very tiring but that disappeared as soon as we saw our first island destination:
Island #1: Sabitang Laya Island
Our guide said this island was used as a location for one of the many franchises of the SURVIVOR.

They filmed the show here for months and they showed it to the whole world.
We should be very proud! Don't miss to visit this place when in Caramoan.
The water was all too tempting, so we indulged.

We enjoyed the island so much that we almost forgot that it was only the first among the many that we are going to visit. So, off we go to
Island #2: Lahos Island
It was very interesting to look at this island from afar. You see white sand planked by two huge lime stones on both sides.
You can actually see the other side of the island.
My favorite island so far!

After all the swimming, beach bumming and pictorials..off we go to the next island!
Island #3: Cagbanilad Island
I remembered we had so much fun making a music video here. Titanium! haha!
This is where we camped for lunch. Our guides were good enough to prepare a seafood feast for us.
So delish!
And before we could even think of slowing down..off we go to our next destination..
Island #4: Matukad Island
Perhaps the most commonly photographed rock in Caramoan. This is also the island where you can rock climb to see the secret the lagoon. Sounds all too exciting!!!
I still had so much energy to do rock climbing. So let's go!
See you later dear friends!
Not as easy as I thought it would be. But hey, I'm already here, so might as well muster some more confidence to make it to the top.
The most buwis-buhay climb I ever did rewarded me with this oh so breathtaking view. Definitely worth every single risky step.
And that right there is the secret lagoon where they say, the magic fish can be seen.
While I was enjoying the view with my other friends, these guys were enjoying their coconut juices.
Could not get any more relaxing than this.
Coconut anyone?

Island #5: Hunongan Island
As what they say, save the best for last. Ahh..this island is simply..perfect.
We all felt like we could stay here forever!
.
We immediately found our place in the island....
We laid on the sand and closed our eyes to take everything in....
and to remember how beautiful this place really is.
Thank you Lord! Our trip to Caramoan was priceless!
Don't worry these guys are just re-charging their energies. Hehe!
Thanks for the memories Caramoan! 'til then!
